“ARE YOU READY FOR DIGITAL TV?”
Early 2011 Australia will switch to Digital Television completely and Analogue broadcasting will cease.
This means you must have a Digital Tuner in your television set or a Digital Set Top Box connected to your existing television set to be able to view Free to air TV.
Your Antenna must also be suitable for picking up the proposed high frequency UHF bands allocated for Digital Television, if not you will be missing out on some services offered on Digital Television.
If you are unsure if your TV set has a Digital Tuner inside, an easy way to check is;
- Does my TV have a DVB logo on it? (This means equipped for Digital Video Broadcast.)
- Do I receive Radio stations as well as TV stations? ( The Digital service has TV as well as Radio stations.)
- Do I have multiple channels from the same TV Network? (such as SBS1, SBS2, SBSHD etc.)
